Ronaldo’s patience plea to injured Rodrygo highlights Real’s rebuilding
Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, who recently netted a brace against Uzbekistan to help Portugal finish second behind Colombia at the 2026 World Cup, met injured Brazilian forward Rodrygo after the club’s 0‑0 draw with a South American side, urging the ACL‑recovering player to be patient.
In a brief exchange on X, Ronaldo asked Rodrygo, “How is it, the injury?” The Brazilian replied, “Six months have already passed.” Ronaldo then followed up, “Are you feeling better?” and Rodrygo answered, “Yes… It’s a bit annoying and boring, but everything’s fine.”
Rodrygo described the rehabilitation process as “annoying and boring,” acknowledging the mental strain of a long recovery. He thanked Ronaldo, saying, “Alright, brother, thank you.”
Ronaldo’s counsel was succinct: “You need to be patient, everything will work out well.” He closed the conversation with a friendly “Alright, brother.”
Rodrygo is still recovering from an ACL injury, a setback that can be mentally draining for attacking players who rely on rhythm and confidence. At the same time, Real Madrid’s recent transfer activity, including the arrival of Bernardo Silva and the emergence of Arda Guler, could limit the Brazilian’s future role.
The club is expected to manage Rodrygo’s return carefully, avoiding a rushed comeback. It remains to be seen how he recovers and what version of him Madrid will get back after the injury.
