Netherlands announce squad numbers for FIFA Women's World Cup
The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) revealed the squad numbers for the Netherlands women's national team ahead of the FIFA Women's World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Numbers 1 through 11 traditionally suggest a probable starting XI, but the KNVB’s list does not follow this convention for the Dutch women's team.
The squad includes players such as Lieke Martens, Vivianne Miedema, and Sherida Spitse, who are expected to feature prominently in the tournament.
Head coach Andries Jonker has named 23 players for the World Cup, with the final selections reflecting a mix of experience and emerging talent.
The tournament begins on July 20, with the Netherlands drawn in Group E alongside Denmark, Japan, and a fourth qualifier yet to be determined.
Defender Stefanie van der Gragt and midfielder Jill Roord are among the key players included in the announced squad.
The KNVB confirmed that the squad numbers will remain unchanged throughout the tournament.
