Eindhoven attack in doubt: PSV eye Eredivisie signing if Pepi exits

PSV has been silent this summer, but a possible departure of the American striker Ricardo Pepi from Eindhoven could force the club to make an Eredivisie‑transfer to fill the attacking void. The club’s silence contrasts with the growing speculation that the Amerikaan may be on the move.

Pepi, the Amerikaan, is already linked to a move to Fulham FC, a deal that was on the table last winter. The SN Betrouwbaarheidsmeter notes that Pepi could still depart this summer, although an intention has been expressed to extend his stay by another year.

Mocht Pepi ultimately leave, Troy Parrott of AZ immediately re‑enters the picture as a possible replacement. Ben Jacobs, a journalist from England, reported the scenario and highlighted PSV’s renewed interest in Parrott alongside Ajax.

De SN Betrouwbaarheidsmeter’s assessment underlines the conditional language surrounding Pepi’s exit. PSV has previously inquired about Parrott, as has Ajax, which has already secured two new expensive attackers – Tolu Arokodare and Marcos Leonardo – underscoring the capital’s aggressive recruitment.

Als clubs beyond the Dutch rivals have shown interest, Como in Italy, Real Betis in Spain and Fulham – whose interest predates the summer – have recently inquired about the Irish striker. Parrott, 24, has also been linked to several Premier‑League clubs, as well as SSC Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen.

Parrott remains under contract with AZ until mid‑2029, with a market value estimated at about €25 million. He scored 31 goals for AZ last season, highlighting his proven Eredivisie scoring ability.

If Pepi finally departs, PSV will need to act swiftly to secure Parrott, competing with multiple clubs and a price tag that could exceed €20 million. The club’s previous silence could change with one decisive move.
