Casemiro endured a night to forget in his second start for Inter Miami, as his misplaced pass and subsequent deflection led to an own goal in the MLS clash with Columbus Crew, prompting Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo to label the Brazilian’s performance ‘bordering on the ridiculous’.

The own‑goal occurred in the 33rd minute of the first half while Inter Miami were leading 1‑0. Casemiro missed a pass on the ball‑out, allowing the opposition to regain possession, and his attempt to clear a cross diverted into his own net.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reacted swiftly, publishing a harsh analysis that said the Brazilian ‘bordered on the ridiculous’ during the match. The outlet highlighted that Casemiro committed two consecutive errors in the same play and called it a very poor start to his Inter Miami career.

‘It was a terrible mistake,’ the paper wrote, adding that ‘he could never have imagined a worse start.’ It also noted that the midfielder’s face ‘was the very image of despair’ as teammates tried to lift his spirits.
