Rhode Island FC add Wimbledon striker Osman Foyo as USL boost
The permanent transfer sees 21‑year‑old striker Osman Foyo leave AFC Wimbledon for USL Championship side Rhode Island FC. Rhode Island FC announced the signing as part of their effort to strengthen the attacking line for the upcoming season.
Foyo arrived at the Dons in January 2025 after departing Ipswich Town, and he made six appearances as the club secured promotion to League One. His contributions helped the side achieve the step up in English football.
In the 2023‑24 campaign he featured in nine additional matches for Wimbledon. Despite limited minutes, he remained part of the squad throughout the season.
During that season he also spent time on loan at National League side Sutton United, where he netted two goals in ten games. The loan spell provided valuable first‑team experience in a competitive environment.
Rhode Island FC acquire a forward who has already experienced a promotion campaign and a productive loan spell in the National League. The club expects his background to add depth and versatility to their USL Championship roster.
For AFC Wimbledon, the permanent departure frees a squad place after a season in which Foyo made limited first‑team appearances. The Dons can now reallocate resources as they plan for the challenges of League One.
