Paris Saint-Germain target Diomande amid €100m Leipzig price tag
Paris Saint-Germain are moving to close a gap on the wing by securing a verbal agreement for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, whose World Cup form has attracted interest across Europe, reports transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano tonight the Paris Saint-Germain club.
Diomande is having a great tournament for Ivory Coast at the World Cup and has been linked to a number of clubs after a superb breakout season in the Bundesliga. Liverpool looked to be favourites for a while, but Romano’s tweet shows PSG are well in the race.
Diomande has agreed a five‑year contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Sporting director Luis Campos will not be taken for a ride, indicating the club is prepared to meet a major price.
Paris Saint-Germain close on Ivory Coast winger, Real Madrid miss out
Paris Saint-Germain must still negotiate a transfer fee with RB Leipzig, which is demanding huge money. Talked figures have already floated above €100 million before PSG entered the discussion. RB Leipzig reportedly turned down Liverpool offers because they expected PSG to bid, and they are keen to see what the French club will propose. Diomande has also been linked to several other clubs, underscoring the competitive market. The final transfer will hinge on whether Paris Saint-Germain can meet Leipzig’s price expectations. If an agreement is reached, Diomande could join the Parisians before the season starts.
