Bavarian precision pays off: Müller dominates MLS Shooting Challenge

Even before his first actual appearance at the MLS All-Star Game, Bavarian striker Thomas Müller delivered a highlight in the USA, winning the MLS Shooting Challenge on Tuesday evening with a record‑breaking 79 points. The German 2014 World Cup winner outscored the previous record holder and set a new benchmark for the skills competition.

Müller claimed victory with an impressive 79 points, dethroning last year’s record holder Evander, who had managed 72 points. The Tuesday evening triumph marked a fresh high for the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge.

As a reward, the German was presented with a golden crown and a place on an oversized throne, underscoring the spectacle of his achievement. The ceremony highlighted the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the event.

The precision contest, a regular part of the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, requires players to hit as many targets as possible in and around the goal within a set time limit. Müller displayed his usual ice‑cold composure throughout the drill.

“I love the Skills Challenge,” Müller said in high spirits after his record‑breaking display, confirming his enjoyment of the competition. Alongside Müller, Tim Ream of Charlotte FC, Maxime Crépeau of Orlando City and Javier Ruiz of Club Necaxa also added their names to the winners’ list in the evening’s other competitions.
