Inter Miami bolsters star power as Casemiro joins Messi
Lionel Messi can welcome another star at Inter Miami CF as the Major League Soccer club confirmed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro today, announcing the move through its official channels. The 34‑year‑old, who left Manchester United as a free agent, is set to join the squad that already features Messi, Luis Suárez and others.
Casemiro, 34, announced early in the season his intention to depart the Red Devils, prompting a wave of rumors. Inter Miami expressed interest soon after and has now officially completed the transfer.
David Beckham, co‑owner of Inter Miami, praised the signing. "I am very proud to welcome Casemiro and his family to Inter Miami," Beckham said, adding that he has admired the player for a long time and sees him as a winner.
The Brazilian previously played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, FC Porto and São Paulo. His experience includes a distinguished career at top European clubs.
Casemiro has signed a contract that runs until mid‑2027, with an option to extend the deal by two further years. The agreement secures his services for several seasons ahead.
At his new club he will line up alongside Messi, Luis Suárez, Rodrigo De Paul and Sergio Reguilón. The midfield addition strengthens an already star‑studded roster.
During the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the Brazilian featured in all five of Brazil’s matches and scored once, highlighting his continued international impact.
